“Mostly Slacker…Sometimes Nerd”
I’m Shabnam, a cis-gendered, AuDHDistic North-easterner with South Asian heritage who is passionate about championing equity and empowerment.
Always unlearning and learning, I reflect on my own lived experience and that of those I meet, to empathise, advocate and educate.
I’m a proud Mama to four amazing humans, so making sure that young people are heard and seen is a tenet of my philosophy. I’ve worked in primary education since 1995 as a class teacher, SENDCo, head teacher and trustee, and continue to share my experiences as a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education.
I love working with people and teams to strengthen relationships and understanding so that we are in the best position to be a positive force for all. I set up DewDrop Education to be able to share what I know, challenge and support those I work with to gain deeper understanding and make real changes around racism, gender, neurodivergence and social injustice in their settings and organisations.
